On December 2nd, Luo Jiarong, President of the Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), and his delegation visited and communicated with the National Engineering Research Center for Internet Domain Name System (ZDNS). They had an in - depth discussion with Xing Zhijie, General Manager of ZDNS, and Ma Di, a member of the Number Resource Organization Names Council (NRO NC) and Chief Researcher of ZDNS, on the application status and deployment strategies of IPv6 and RPKI in the Asia - Pacific region and China.

During the communication, Luo Jiarong further understood ZDNS's innovative strength and technical advantages in IP address planning and allocation. Luo Jiarong stated that as the Internet IP address registration authority in the Asia - Pacific region, APNIC is responsible for the allocation and authentication of Internet number resources such as IP addresses and ASNs (Autonomous System Numbers) in the Asia - Pacific region. ZDNS has outstanding advantages in IP address planning management and RPKI service technology, and the two sides have a good cooperative relationship. He hoped to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with ZDNS to jointly develop a more secure and stable Internet infrastructure.

Xing Zhijie said that the cooperation between the two sides has a long history. As early as 2018, ZDNS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with APNIC to reach a strategic cooperation, giving play to their respective technical advantages and researching the deployment and operation mechanism of RPKI. Xing Zhijie pointed out that deeply exploring the space for innovative applications and accelerating the integration of industry applications are important ways and internal driving forces for the large - scale deployment of IPv6. The next - generation DNS innovatively proposed by ZDNS supports the large - scale deployment of IPv6 in terms of overall planning, fine - grained management, service discovery, intelligent services, security and efficiency, and promotes high - quality interconnection and interoperability of the global network. ZDNS will continue to cooperate with APNIC to promote the deployment and application of IPv6 and facilitate international exchanges and cooperation in key technologies.

In addition, the participants had an in - depth discussion on topics such as IPv6 application demonstrations, RPKI deployment and operation mechanisms, and the creation of Internet basic technology standards. They also reached a preliminary consensus on the future cooperation directions. In the future, the two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and jointly explore the path to the healthy development of the global cyberspace.
